Bassetlaw’s share of Council Tax 8% is lower than the national average and we will continue to keep it that way.

We have secured levelling up funding for Worksop Town Centre. Our plan includes a new leisure facility, market area, food court, and a bowling alley and trampoline park.

We plan to open a new Banking Hub in Retford following the closure of several High Street banks.

We have secured £3m for a state-of-the-art skills hub, offering skills training to people across Bassetlaw.

Bassetlaw Labour has laid the foundation for up to 9,700 new jobs in Bassetlaw with our comprehensive economic plan.

This includes thousands of jobs at Appleyhead, Vesuvius, Snape Lane, and Gamston Airport.

We have set up new refuge points in our Town Centres so that we all feel safe and can call for help if needed.

We will protect weekly bin collections and introduce new recycling schemes for glass and food waste.

We are taking action to tackle litter, dog fouling, and fly-tipping across Bassetlaw. Over 3,000 fines were issued in 2022/23.

In line with Bassetlaw Labour’s commitment, Bassetlaw District Council is now mandating that electric vehicle charging points are installed on all new residential and commercial sites.

Under Labour’s leadership, Bassetlaw has secured funding for a new £3.96m business hub. This multi-purpose employment hub will create job opportunities and provide start-up businesses a place to grow and thrive.
